Update: I AM PREGNANT.

It's been a long time since I've posted an entry here but I've been so busy I just didn't have the time. However, due to my condition (I will explain more later), I am not allowed to do any household chores so I've got time on my hands again and I really really want to document the whole process so I have decided to blog about my pregnancy.

I have already announced it in Facebook, to my family, even the title is enough but I just want to do it one more time: I AM PREGNANT. Hahaha!!  ^_^

So since I want everything documented, I am going to start from the very beginning.

BEFORE THE TEST

For me it all started when I started feeling nauseous. I had an uneasy stomach and it went on for days. Whatever I ate, it didn't settle well. I felt bloated, I had gas, I was salivating, I feel squeamish every time I think, smell or see any type of food, I lost my appetite yet I felt hungry all the time.

Then, I started vomiting. ALL DAY. I puked everything I ate. It was an exhausting process. Eat, puke, eat, puke and so on. I thought it was hyperacidity. I had one last year that resulted to peptic ulcer due to stress (I know, cheesy), so I thought it might be the same thing.

I decided to take antacids -- the usual, Kremil-S and Maalox. Thankfully, these meds were safe for the baby. I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant that maybe the meds were bad for the baby.

When the nausea and vomiting did not stop I started to wonder. I've missed my period but since my period isn't regular, I just dismissed it. I started feeling off that there was something different about my hyperacidity this time. There were other changes too, my breasts were bigger and heavier, I feel hotter -- little things that H & I started to suspect that there might be something more to the nausea than just hyperacidity & ulcer.

So, we decided to go and visit a doctor.

THE TEST

The night before my doctor's appointment, I asked H the following questions: Are you ready? Are you nervous? Because by tomorrow, they're going to confirm that you're going to be a Father. He smiled, said yes, told me everything will be alright and kissed my forehead good night.

I went to see my Cardiologist first. She's also in Internal Med. I thought she can pinpoint me to the right direction but she arrived at her clinic late so while waiting we decided to get a serum pregnancy test. I did some research and found out that using blood will give more accurate results and they can detect the pregnancy even on its early stage and, since I've been vomiting for only 2 and a half weeks, I thought it was the best option.

Then me, my Mom and H went and saw the doctor. We talked, the usual medical procedures while waiting for my pregnancy result. In the middle of my check up, Henden excused himself to see if my preg test result is already available.

When Henden came back, he was wearing this huge grin. I mean HUGE. Like a crazy person and, without him saying anything, I knew the result was positive. He handed me the paper, I saw the words POSITIVE in black ink and the feeling that came over me was well.. indescribable. I laughed, kept checking if I read the words right over and over, a million thoughts were running through my head, I can't describe it.

The doctor took the paper from me because I did not answer her and she has been asking me what the result was since Henden came back. When she saw the result, she gave the paper to my mom and she said congratulations.

My Cardiologist is an angel. She called her younger sister (who is an OB-Gyne) and right there and then arranged that her younger sister should take me on as her patient. She arranged a meeting for us the next day. Gave me her sister's number and told her sister to take care of me.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

So if I put it in order, the technician of Healthlink found out first, H second, me third, then the doctor, then Nanay since we were all there when I had my check up.

When I came home, Motley was there for a visit and when I was about to hand the paper to Neneng Gina, she took a peek at it so she's next and then Neneng. Then I talked to Ilaya because I was really worried she would feel threatened. She's been very vocal that she doesn't want me to have baby. So she found out next. Then Tita Luing kept asking through txt what the result was so I told her next via a txt reply.

Then I called Nanay Jo and she was in bed with Ilika and Swak so they all found out together. Tatay Willy is next since they were all screaming when I told them the news I'm sure Tay Wils could hear them a mile away. Then I called Tatay. He was busy and I wanted us to talk long when I tell him so he found out a bit later. Tatay told all the grown ups back home in Mindanao. Neneng told Tito Kim. I sent a private msg to all JRG members so they're next. Nanay was the one who told all the extended family. I announced it in Facebook and by now everyone knows.

AFTERMATH

I ate a huge container of chocolate ice cream the night I got the result to celebrate and for the first time in our 8-year relationship I have a justifiable reason why I don't/can't/won't share my food with Henden. Hahaha!!  :D

I want to write more but I will do it in another entry. I will definitely be writing more. ^____^
